The city of eternal spring offers many possibilities. I invite you to discover my city, its culture, its gastronomy, and its surrounding green landscapes. Also note its incredible urban transformation which has made it the most innovative city in the world.

Friday: Medellin through its transformation

In the morning, you will go to Comuna 13. You can’t visit Medellin without visiting the heart of the famous Comuna 13, once a hotbed of violence and drug trafficking, this popular neighbourhood is now a “must see” place of culture and history in Medellin.

In the afternoon, wander through the heart of the city centre, which is remarkable for its culture and architecture. You’ll see many different styles as you stroll through the Carabobo district and Plaza Bolivar, Medellin’s main square.

This metropolis has been able to distinguish itself by its innovation and urbanisation,  thanks to its public transport network, which includes a modern aerial metro and several Metrocable lines that open up the various comunas of the metropolis.

For dinner, there is an address you can’t miss: Alambique. This “chic” Colombian cuisine restaurant is the ideal place to satisfy your taste buds. Its cosy atmosphere and innovative cuisine make it a very charming restaurant.

Colombia y Salsa: When night falls, you can’t go for a walk without hearing this rhythm that resonates in unison throughout the valley. On Friday, it’s time to let go and enjoy your night ! A csalsa class, a typical bar or a disco, you can’t get tired of salsa !

Getaway and climbing in Guatapé: Un Sabado Loco

Early in the morning, you leave for the day, to Guatapé. On the way, you see the Piedra del Peñol and its 600 steps. A mandatory stop and climb! Up there you have a 360-degree view of the many lakes and islands. One thing is certain: you will be breathless!

A word of advice: Enjoy a “Michelada” beer at the top – you’ve earned it! 😀

After lunch, continue your journey to the small colourful village. Stroll through the streets of Guatapé and discover the facades all decorated with their Zocalos. Those frescos are a tradition of this charming village and represent the vocation of each home.

Back in Medellin for dinner, go to La causa, this restaurant combines Peruvian and Japanese gastronomy to offer you tasty and refined dishes.

In the evening, for those who like to party, there is only one way to end the day in a colombian way : La chiva!

These colourful, refurbished buses offer a Vuelta Loca of Medellín. Let yourself be transported through the city to the rhythm of reggaeton. This disco-mobil is ideal for discovering the city’s nightlife, which it brings to life as it passes.

Sunday Verde al Parque: Un domingo tranquillo

In the morning, departure by metro to the Arvi Park. Located on the eastern side of the mountain to the northeast of Medellín. The ascent allows you to fly over different comunas while enjoying a superb view of the entire city.

On arrival, you will go for a hike in the heart of this pre-Hispanic natural and archaeological reserve.

An advice: Take your picnic with you to enjoy the calm and freshness of the park for as long as possible.

The warmth and friendliness of the Medellinenses and the pleasant climate all year long make Medellín one of the warmest cities to live in Colombia.

The many possibilities the city and its surroundings offer by day and by night make it an ideal place to live.

I will never get tired of admiring this city in the heart of the mountains, offering different landscapes every day, coloured by the prism of the clouds.
