Cusco

International flight to Bogota, Colombia. Arrival at Bogotá’s El Dorado international airport, at an altitude of 2,640 m. Transfer to your hotel in the Candelaria district and end of the day free to enjoy the Colombian capital at your leisure, with its mix of modern districts and historic center, urban architecture and verdant parks. Jour 2 :

Bogota

Visit Bogotá’s historic and cultural center, with its authentic colonial atmosphere, cobblestone streets, colorful facades, beautifully carved wooden balconies and Baroque churches. – The Candelaria district, Bogotá’s historic and cultural center, with its authentic colonial atmosphere, cobblestone streets, colorful facades, beautifully carved wooden balconies and Baroque churches.

– Just before visiting the Gold Museum, you can take time out to sample the scents of Colombian coffee with a « Coffee Flight », a tasting of three coffees from one of the country’s most prestigious fincas – The Gold Museum, one of the most dazzling on the continent. Nearly 34,000 pieces of gold are on display, making it the world’s largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silverware from the Quimbaya, Taironas, Muiscas and Tolimas civilizations.

– Fondation Botero , dedicated to the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, where his own works (some 100 drawings, paintings and sculptures) are on display, together with his private collection of no fewer than 85 masterpieces by internationally renowned artists (Renoir, Dali, Chagall, Picasso, Miro, etc.).) – Plaza Bolivar, with its imposing buildings (City Hall, Palace of Justice, Cathedral, National Congress, etc.) Note 1: the Candelaria visit is on foot (3 to 4 hours’ walk in the city) Note 2: the order and content of the activities are given as a guide, depending on the day of the week (Gold Museum closed on Mondays; Botero Foundation closed on Tuesdays). Bogota

Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to San Andres. Note: At San Andres airport, you’ll have to pay a local tax of around 105,000 COP / person. Keep this if you’re flying to Providencia. Domestic flight to Providencia . Note 1: At Providencia airport, you’ll need to show proof of payment of the tax paid at San Andres airport. Note 2: 10 kg hold luggage and 5 kg hand luggage. Welcome in Providencia and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the Deep Blue Hotel in a Deluxe room. Providencia

Dive to explore the seabed off Providencia Island. The area, with its warm, crystal-clear waters all year round, is a diver’s paradise. The coral reef, 32 km long (uninterrupted), is home to an extremely rich fauna and flora. Overnight at the Deep Blue Hotel in a Deluxe room. Note: The Deep Blue Hotel is classified as a 4* hotel, thanks to its enchanting setting in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. Jour 5 :

Providencia

We suggest you visit Cayo Cangrejo . This small islet to the west of Providencia, a 10-minute boat ride away, is part of the McBean Lagoon nature park. Its name (meaning crab island) comes from the two tall, long coconut palms in the shape of a crab’s eye, which give the islet its distinctive appearance. The islet offers the best view of the 7 shades of blue sea. Take advantage of the warm, transparent water for swimming and snorkeling. Note: Entrance to McBean Lagoon is worth 16,000 COP. Cartagena

Accompanied by a specialist guide, you’ll spend half a day wandering through the narrow streets of beautiful Cartagena de Indias in search of clues to « Gabo’s » past: the writer’s childhood home, now converted into a museum, the university where he was a professor, the headquarters of the newspaper he once founded, and his architecturally beautiful second home. Afternoon of pampering at one of the city’s most renowned spas. Release the pressure and indulge in some Caribbean rituals. Afternoon free to enjoy Cartagena’s many attractions. You can visit the historic city at your own pace and enjoy its unique atmosphere, discover the modern district of Bocagrande, store for handicrafts in Las Bovedas, take a day trip to relax on the Rosario islands and admire the sunset from the city walls. Lima

Half-day guided tour of the Peruvian capital, taking in the colonial quarters of the city center, passing through Plaza San Martin and Plaza Armas, and visiting the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs. Transfer from downtown to Lima airport. Flight to Cusco. Welcome on arrival at Cusco airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hotel El Mercado.

Cusco

At 09:00 a.m., you’ll visit the local market in San Pedro, accompanied by a chef, where you’ll choose the ingredients for the cooking demonstration. Lunch included after the cooking demonstration. Afternoon at leisure in Cusco, the navel of the Inca world. Suggestions: Free time in Cusco is generally appreciated for its opportunities to stroll along the city’s many narrow cobbled streets. You can also take advantage of this time to do some last-minute souvenir shopping: between clothes, jewelry and home decor, there’s no shortage of choice in Cusco! Overnight at Hotel El Mercado.

Jour 13 :

Cusco

At 8:00 a.m., departure by private vehicle for the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First stop, Pisac, one of the major sites of Inca culture, with different quarters (administrative, religious, military) dotted around the mountain. You’ll see the large terraces used for farming and protecting against erosion. Afterwards, take a stroll through the colorful handicraft market, one of the largest in the Sacred Valley, and head for Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is also known as « the last living Inca village », as its inhabitants maintain their ancient customs and traditions. Afterwards, visit the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo and its cyclopean stones, the site of fierce battles between the Incas and the Spaniards. Weather permitting, after the visit you can stroll through the city’s cobbled streets. Board the first-class train for Aguas Calientes, the departure point for Machu Picchu. Note: The train company allows passengers to carry a maximum of 8 kilos of cabin luggage per person. You should leave your hold luggage in the luggage locker at your hotel in the Sacred Valley or in Cusco (possibility of transferring luggage from one hotel to another). Your guide will accompany you on the train. Afternoon train. Overnight at Hotel Machu Picchu Pueblo, dinner included.

Machu Picchu

Take the shuttle up to the citadel of Machu Picchu, departing every 5 minutes for both the ascent and descent. Note: 1st shuttle to the site: 05:30 / Travel time: 30 minutes Last shuttle to the site: 15:30 / Last shuttle to Aguas Calientes: 16:45 Arrival at Machu Picchu, wonder of the world. Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city dating from the 15th century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca empire, the sacred city of the Incas, forgotten for centuries, is considered a masterpiece of Inca architecture. Unveiled by American archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911, the site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. On July 7, 2007, Machu Picchu was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World by the NewOpenWorld Foundation, an unofficial, commercial organization. Finally, the site is part of a cultural and natural ensemble known as the « Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu ». Note: 1st access to the site at 6 a.m., last access at 2 p.m. Entrance to Machu Picchu is regulated by a 3-hour window of permanence on the site. We’ll let you know the recommended entry time for your program. After this confirmation, the time of entry to the site cannot be changed. Private tour with English-speaking guide. You will board the first-class train to Ollantaytambo. Note: The train company allows passengers to carry a maximum of 8 kilos of cabin luggage per person. Your guide will accompany you on the train. Afternoon train. Welcome at Ollantaytambo station and transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Overnight at the Hotel Sol y Luna, Relais & Châteaux. 2-hour spa treatment. Sacred Valley

Departure at 9 a.m. by private vehicle for a day devoted to exploring the Sacred Valley. First stop, the cultural site of Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory. Continuing on to the colonial village of Chinchero to visit the colonial church and adjoining ruins. Return to Cusco and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hotel El Mercado.
