Coffee Region
In Colombia

Medellín, Salento, Los Nevados

The Coffee region stretches between the central valleys of the Andes, west of Bogotá, forming a triangle between Medellín, Manizales and Armenia. This mountainous region, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a blend of terraced plantations, colorful villages and cloud forests. Since the 19th century, the region's economy has been based on the cultivation of Arabica coffee, grown on mountainsides using traditional methods. The region also reflects a strong identity, with its peasant heritage, agricultural know-how and landscapes shaped by "fincas" and mule trails.
