Color y Esperanza, a superb solidarity initiative in Colombia

For the Terra Colombia team, after 13 years of existence in a country in the throes of transformation that we introduce to travelers from all over the world, the desire to contribute in our own small way to the evolution of this beautiful land has always been an obvious choice. That’s what motivated us this year to create a partnership with a hopeful local project, the Color y Esperanza Foundation. After all, who better than children to bring about change in a country?

Founded in 2009 by Nellysabeth Murillo Raminez, a lawyer by profession and herself a native of the Chocó region, the Color y Esperanza association aims to promote the education of disadvantaged children and teenagers in the region.

It’s this wonderful local solidarity project that the Terra Colombia team has chosen to support this year. For every traveler discovering Colombia with us, the agency donates 10 USD to the Color y Esperanza foundation.

The association's objectives

Education: Facilitating access to education for children aged between 5 and 14 in the Choco region, and ensuring their attendance through the implementation of educational programs. By giving them access to technological tools, among others, the foundation aims to give children the opportunity to access a better future.Sex education: Giving children the tools to become aware of their bodies and teaching them to respect their physical integrity, so that they are able to make responsible decisions in matters of sexuality.

Culture and identity: Using art, leisure and sport as keys to transformation, to give children the tools to channel and express their emotions, develop healthy habits and reaffirm their culture and identity.

A Christmas of solidarity

Every year, Color y Esperanza organizes a Christmas gift drive for the association’s children. Terra Colombia joins this project and invites you to do the same! If you’re traveling with us, we invite you to bring a small gift from your country for children aged between 3 and 9. You can leave it with your driver when you arrive, and we’ll take care of liaising with the association. For you, who will be discovering their country, this is a great opportunity to introduce these children to your own!
