Welcome to Colombia! Upon arrival in Bogotá, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in the historic La Candelaria district. Take some time to settle in and explore the capital’s colorful streets.

Today, set out to explore Bogotá with your English-speaking guide. On the itinerary: the colonial streets of La Candelaria, Plaza Bolívar, the famous Gold Museum, and the Botero Foundation. A wonderful introduction to Colombian history and culture.

This morning, head up to Cerro de Monserrate to enjoy a panoramic view of Bogotá. You’ll then explore a local market where Colombians come to shop and sample local products. At the end of the day, fly to Pereira and settle in to the coffee region.

Set off on a hike through the mountains around Pijao. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll explore the region’s landscapes and see the famous wax palms.

Flight to Santa Marta on the Caribbean coast. After checking in at the hotel, explore this historic city founded by the conquistadors, taking in the old town, the bay, and sites steeped in history.

Today, you’ll head out to the area around Santa Marta to discover another side of Colombia. On the agenda: a visit to the botanical garden and a natural reserve, followed by lunch at a traditional Tayrona-style finca nearby.

Departure for the Tayrona region. You’ll set off on foot through the jungle to explore the Tayronaka site, an ancient city associated with the Tayrona people. The adventure continues with a float-tube ride down the Rio Don Diego, ending at a wild Caribbean beach.
