A day devoted to sightseeing in Bogotá, including: – Cerro de Monserrate , for a breathtaking view of the capital and surrounding area. Perched at an altitude of 3,152 metres, the Sanctuary (accessible by cable car or funicular) is a place of pilgrimage, particularly popular on religious feast days.
– The Paloquemao market, where you can sample exotic flavours and shop for Bogotanos’ favourite dish – The Candelaria district, Bogotá’s historic and cultural center, with its authentic colonial atmosphere, cobbled streets, colourful facades, beautifully carved wooden balconies and Baroque churches – The Gold Museum, one of the most dazzling on the continent. Nearly 34,000 pieces of gold are on display, making it the world’s largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silverware from the Quimbaya, Taironas, Muiscas and Tolimas civilizations.
– The Botero Foundation, dedicated to the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, where his own works (some 100 drawings, paintings and sculptures) are on display, along with his private collection of no fewer than 85 masterpieces by internationally renowned artists (Renoir, Dali, Chagall, Picasso, Miro, etc.) – Plaza Bolivar, with its imposing buildings (City Hall, Palace of Justice, Cathedral, National Congress, etc.) Overnight in a hotel in Bogotá.

Spend the day visiting Medellin, taking a stroll through the pedestrian streets of the Carabobo district to see the different styles of architecture, from the Palacio Nacional to the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, before reaching the Plaza Botero, where bronze statues of the famous artist are on display. You’ll also visit the Botero Museum, and take the metro-cable (cable car) to the heights of Medellin for a panoramic view of the city from Arvi Park, before heading for comuna 13, known as a hotbed of urban violence in Medellin. The arrival of the Metrocable, the construction of a designer library and a hospital, among others, show the revival of this district. Many graffiti are now part of the landscape of these communes, and you’ll discover their meanings. The Casa Kolacho artists’ collective will explain how they were able to save hundreds of young people from armed conflict through culture. Overnight in a hotel in Medellin.

Free time to enjoy your last moments in this paradise and transfer by boat to Nuqui airport for your flight to Medellin. Transfer between Olaya Herrera national airport and Medellin international airport. Domestic flight to Santa Marta. Arrival in Santa Marta, on the Caribbean coast. Welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel at the gateway to the beautiful Tayrona National Park. Overnight in a hotel in the Tayrona region.
Depart for one of Tayrona’s ancillary entrances. After registering with the park, you set off on a three-hour walk along Tayrona’s ancillary trails. Here, the birds have replaced the tourists. After a beautiful climb, set against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada, you’ll stop off at an authentic Kogi camp, and continue into the forest, where you’ll be served a picnic, surrounded by the park’s impressive flora and fauna. After a final ridge, you’ll come to a secluded beach, a long stretch of sand wedged between two mountains, with the blue of the Caribbean in the background. Here, in the heart of the park, tourists are rare, and it’s surrounded by 4 species of monkey that you can enjoy this heavenly setting. A small waterfall awaits you fifteen minutes away in the middle of the forest, should you wish to extend your walk in the afternoon. Overnight in a hotel in the Tayrona region.
After breakfast, it’s off again for a walk in the forest. A new hill to start the day before coming across another indigenous camp in the middle of the forest. A few more efforts and you’re at the sacred site of Pueblito. Here, the 4 tribes of the Sierra Nevada meet frequently and are beginning to repopulate the archaeological site. You then descend to Cabo San Juan , one of the most beautiful beaches in the park, where you can enjoy the Caribbean Sea in complete safety. This is the start of a two-hour walk to the park’s main entrance. Accompanied by the park’s numerous iguanas, you’ll discover Tayrona’s most beautiful beaches: Arrenillas and Arrecifes …. before rejoining your driver, who will be waiting at the main entrance to take you back to your hotel. After a detour to the small fishing village of Taganga, where you can choose your lunch from a local fisherman (fresh fish or live lobster), you’ll visit the historic center of Santa Marta, with its churches, small squares and typical markets. You’ll then discover the gold museum before meeting an authentic Wayuu weaver and learning more about their weaving technique. A French chef will be waiting for you to prepare your morning catch. Then off to Quinta San Pedro, where you’ll discover a beautiful garden, the last home of Bolivar, hero of South American independence, and a museum dedicated to him.
On the way back, enjoy a typical Raspao or a delicious home-made ice cream in the pretty Plaza de los Novios. Finally, to round off this beautiful day, we invite you to take a short boat trip on Santa Marta Bay to admire a magnificent sunset while sipping an aperitif. Spend the morning visiting Cartagena’s historic center and main sights. We’ll explore the Getsemani, San Diego and Santo Domingo neighborhoods on foot, bearing witness to the city’s past. Depart for a full-day boat trip to discover the richness of the island, where you’ll sail between turquoise and crystal-clear waters. On the program: – Fishing (rod or spear) in one of the best spots around Providencia. Your guide will be there to help you.
