A few weeks ago, the Terra Colombia team set off on an adventure in the coffee region in search of new treasures..
A coffee finca with 1000 surprises: La Casa Vieja
Ourfirststop was a 5-minute drive from the town of Quimbaya, at a traditional, family-run coffee producer: La Casa Vieja. Thanks to the warm welcome of Santiago and his family, the early afternoon got off to the best possible start. We partook of a delicious home-cooked meal, then without missing a beat, we entered the world of coffee on a guided tour through culture and tradition. It was a journey full of surprises, where we were able to taste typical Colombian fruits, discover the entire coffee production process, and understand the family’s philosophy that good coffee comes from a good environment. The experience ended with a delicious coffee produced on site.
A timeless valley in Tolima : La Carbonera
Who hasn’t dreamed of a little break away from it all, to disconnect, recharge our batteries and discover a small part of the world? That’s what we were able to experience with our guide Luis, during another day in the Tolima mountains. After a jeepjourney , we arrived in the late morning in the incredible, timelessCarbonera Valley. We were totally alone in the heart of a verdant valley, surrounded by hundreds of wax palms, Colombia’s national tree, with the only sound – and by far the most beautiful sound – nature. During our hike, we took in the sights and reconnected with nature. As well as a complete change of scenery, the day was very enriching, with Luis sharing all his knowledge with us.
Of course, there are many other little nuggets of gold scattered throughout this beautiful region, making it a treasure in itself. So now it’s your turn to set off on an adventure and discover all its wonders…Océane
