Jour 1 : Cartagena de Indias

Arrival in Cartagena de Indias , the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a city of romance, legends and preserved beauty lying within an impressive 8 miles of centuries-old Colonial stone walls. Cartagena’s old town is a Unesco World Heritage site – a maze of cobbled alleys, balconies covered in bougainvillea, and massive churches that cast their shadows across the plazas.

Jour 2 : Cartagena de Indias

Half day dedicated to visiting the historic center and the main sites of Cartagena. Walk along the cobbled streets and discover the past and present of Cartagena by visiting the most beautiful monuments of the city such as the Clock Tower or Don Pedro de Heredia.

Notice the different architectural influences – Romanesque, Moorish, Colonial, Military, Arab, Spanish and North American – that have shaped Cartagena.

Discover the Palace of the Inquisition, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, or the San Pedro Claver sanctuary, formerly dedicated to Spanish priests and missionaries. Free afternoon to enjoy the city at your own pace. Overnight at La Passion hotel in a Premium room.

Jour 3 : Cartagena de Indias

Depart for an adventure in the Getsemani district, a stone’s throw from the walled city… You’ll take walking tour of the streets of this Bohemian district to discover local Colombian food… authentic dishes that Cartageneros love!

Whether you are looking for a snack or something slightly more filling, a healthy appetizer or a sweet dessert, the streets of Cartagena offer everything! This is one of the best ways to get insight into daily life and local culture.

Jour 4 : Cartagena de Indias

Enjoy your last moments in Cartagena before heading to Santa Marta on the Caribbean Coast.

Transfer to you hotel and enjoy some free time at the end of the day.

Note: About a 4-5 hour drive. Free afternoon to enjoy the Tayrona area between the Sierra Nevada and Caribbean sea. Take a walk in the jungle and relax on the beautiful beaches.

Jour 5 : Tayrona and Surrounding Areas

Whole day to take advantage of Tayrona Park, between the jungle and beaches of the Caribbean Sea.

You will alternate between hiking in the lush tropical forest where you’ll observing the fauna and flora and walking on beautiful desert beaches before arriving in Cañaveral, where you will stop for a lunch and enjoy a swim.

Note 1 : Your passport required to enter the National Park.

Note 2 : 3 to 4 hours hike. Keep in mind that weather is hot.

Note 3 : Recommended equipment: walking shoes, tropical friendly clothing, swim suit and towel, sun screen, insect repellent and a backpack to carry your food and water

Note 4 : Swimming can be hazardous at some beaches due to strong currents and undertows. We strongly discouraged it.

Note 5 : An official tour guide is required within the Tayrona Park. It is possible to ask for a bilingual guide, in this case you will be with a local guide and translator.

Note 6 : The National park is very touristic, an alternative to this visit can be arranged if requested.

Jour 6 : Tayrona and Surrounding Areas

Departure for the Sierra Nevada .

Tayronaka is the lost city of the Tayrona indigenous people. A mythical city, it is here Robert de Niro filmed the movie The Mission. Accompanied by a guide, you will retrace the history of this ancient civilization.

Then you will board a lancha, a small motorboat, to travel down the Don Diego river until you reach the Caribbean Sea. On the way, you will have the chance to see many monkeys and colorful birds.

Return to the reserve and have lunch in the heart of the Sierra Nevada. In the morning, departure to Cartagena de Indias on the Caribbean Coast. Transfer to your hotel.

Enjoy the end of the day blending in with the locals and soaking up the regional atmosphere of this splendid colonial city and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Jour 7 : Cartagena de Indias

Transfer between your hotel and the port of Cartagena. Departure for the Archipelago of San Bernardo, a set of coastal coral islands, located in the Caribbean Sea and part of the Corals National Natural Park.

After about 2 hours on board, you will reach Mucura Island .

Enjoy a welcome drink and relax in your bungalow.

The rest of the day will be yours to relax and swim in the crystal clear waters of the Carribean sea.

Note: At the Cartagena port, before boarding, you will be charged a local tax of 17 500 COP/person.

Jour 8 : San Bernardo Archipelago

A whole day of relaxation is in San Bernardo Archipelago.

Take a break and enjoy water activities, a scenic tour of the surroundings islands, diving, a hiking tour or simply relax on the beach.

Jour 9 : Cartagena de Indias

Transfer between the port and your hotel in Cartagena by boat.

Jour 10 : Cartagena de Indias

Transfer to the Cartagena de Indias airport for your international flight.
