Bogota

Welcome at Bogotá’s El Dorado international airport, at an altitude of 2,640 m. Transfer to your hotel in Bogotá’s northern districts. Overnight at Hotel The Artisan in a City Standard room.

Jour 2 :

Bogota

This half-day tour will be dedicated to discovering the riches of Colombia, including: – A stroll through the world of emeralds: accompanied by an « expert » guide, you’ll wander the streets of Candelaria, meeting dealers and craftsmen. A visit to the Gold Museum, with its fascinating collection of almost 34,000 pieces of gold and Tumbac (an alloy of copper and gold), the world’s largest collection of pre-Hispanic goldsmiths.

– Botero Foundation , dedicated to the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, where his own works (some 100 drawings, paintings and sculptures) are on display, along with his private collection of no fewer than 85 masterpieces by internationally renowned artists (Renoir, Dali, Chagall, Picasso, Miro, .note: the order and content of the activities are indicative, depending on the day of the week (Gold Museum closed on Mondays; Botero Foundation closed on Tuesdays). Jour 3 :

Bogota

Departure for Chingaza, on the outskirts of Bogotá. Covering 76,000 hectares, this natural park is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species (Andean condor, spectacled bear). During the hike, you’ll enjoy a rich ecosystem, between sacred lagoons (Siecha and Guasca are important sites in Muisca mythology) and frailejones (typical high-altitude shrubs, above 3,000 metres). Note 1: approx. 5-hour round trip.

Note 2: hike on uneven terrain; approx. 3 to 4 hours’ walk; moderate to difficult level. Note 3: lunch (midday) included, in the form of a packed lunch. Park info: cold/temperate climate (4° C to 21.5° C); 800 to 4,020 msnm altitude Overnight at The Artisan hotel in a City Standard room.

Jour 4 :

Bogota

Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Pereira. Arrival in the « coffee triangle » (made up of three departments: Quindío, Risaralda and Caldas). Here, in the Andean highlands of western Colombia, almost 10% of the world’s coffee is grown at altitudes ranging from 800 to 1,800 m. Welcome and transfer to your hotel. We’ll take you into the colorful world of exotic fruits, with a guided tasting by an expert! You’re sure to be surprised and amazed by the diversity of colors, tastes and textures! Jour 5 :

Pereira

A day dedicated to discovering the villages and landscapes typical of the coffee region. On the program, a Willys tour through the verdant Cocora Valley and a hike among the wax palms (Colombia’s national tree). Then you’ll head off to discover the avocado plantations of the Cocora Valley. We’ll explain everything you ever wanted to know about avocados. You’ll also enjoy a tasting of their best selection. Lunch break at a magnificent traditional hacienda. In the afternoon, visit the village of Salento: panoramic tour, discovery of local architecture and typical bamboo constructions (guadua). Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Horseback ride in the Cocora Valley. Note: 1-hour ride. Overnight at Hotel Sazagua in Suite room.

Jour 6 :

Pereira

Lilia, Gabriel, Karen and Gelen open the doors of their small traditional finca perched in the coffee hills between Manizales and Pereira. On site, you’ll have the opportunity to walk among the coffee trees, be introduced to the harvesting and roasting processes, before tasting the beverage produced on site. An authentic and convivial experience shared with a family of local farmers, passionate about their craft and their history. A typical lunch will be served at the end of the tour. Transfer to Pereira airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Cartagena de Indias. Welcome to Cartagena de Indias, on the Caribbean coast. Transfer to your hotel in the historic center and end of the day free to discover the unrivalled charm of this superb colonial city, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Overnight at Hotel Alfiz in a Junior Suite room.

Jour 7 :

Cartagena

Departure for a guided bike tour of Cartagena. The ride begins in the historic center, where you’ll pass by the main squares and monuments of the colonial center. The tour continues to Gethsémani, home to Florentino Ariza, the main character in the famous novel Love in the Time of Cholera by Colombian Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez, before crossing the Roman Bridge into the Manga district to visit Cartagena’s oldest cemetery. Finally, you’ll ride along the promenade of Bocagrande, an ultra-modern district often nicknamed « Little Miami », to reach the colonial center. This original discovery of the city will be punctuated by stops so that your guide can explain Cartagena’s rich history to you… Note: approx. 3 hours by bike Afternoon at leisure to enjoy Cartagena’s many attractions. Welcome at Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport. First contact with the country, then your driver will take you to your hotel. Overnight at Riande Granada Hotel, standard room.

Jour 10 :

Panama city

Your driver will pick you up for a one-day city tour of Panama City. Services of a private English-speaking guide and driver’s expenses included (meals, transportation, lodging, excursions, etc.). First stop: Panama La Vieja, the country’s first capital before being destroyed by the notorious pirate Henry Morgan, followed by the Panama Canal and Miraflores locks. The visitors’ center offers a bird’s-eye view of all kinds of ships in transit (container ships, ocean liners, tiny sailing boats…), while exhibits retrace the history of the locks’ construction and describe how they work. Then on to the Casco Antiguo . This bohemian district plunges you into the country’s historic past, with its typical alleyways and colorful buildings leading to the Place de France. Discover the art-deco architecture and the cathedral. In the late afternoon, transfer to your hotel. Note 1: Panama La Vieja site closed on Mondays. Panama city

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel for a transfer to Gelabert (Albrook) airport. Flight to the Bocas del Toro archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. Note: Please note that baggage weight is limited (approx. 14 kg per person for hold baggage and 2 kg for cabin baggage). Additional charge of $3 per kilo. Bocas del Toro

Free day to relax with your feet in the water, enjoy the Afro-Caribbean ambience of Bocas, explore the Bastimentos National Marine Park, swim among the starfish, watch the dolphins, look for the little red frogs, or meet the Ngobe Buglé Indians… Suggested activities – please consult us:

Bocas del Toro

Transfer from Bocas del Toro to Cahuita. The boat leaves at 8:30 or 12:30 from the Bocas Marine Tour office for Almirante. You then take a bus to the border and cross the bridge on foot. A new bus picks you up to take you to Cahuita. Note: group transfer. Overnight at Shawandah Lodge. Bungalow. Transfer from lodge to Bocas del Toro airport.

Cahuita

Pick-up of your rental vehicle Info: you’ll find all the information you need about your vehicle in the other services section of your quote. At the wheel of your vehicle, you’ll explore the country while staying connected thanks to our wifi terminal – Compulsory insurance included – Rental of a wifi terminal in your vehicle to benefit from an internet connection during your journeys. Possibility of connecting up to 5 devices and data consumption included. Drop Off Talamanca Cahuita National Park You’ll alternate walking through tropical vegetation with relaxing and swimming in the Caribbean Sea. In addition to medicinal plants and orchids, you’re sure to come across snakes, sloths, several types of monkeys, agoutis and coatis, as well as toucans. Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui

Depart for a free walk in the heart of the Selva Verde reserve. During the walk, you’re sure to spot a variety of mammals and birds. Drive from Sarapiqui to Boca Tapada. Lunch included (main course only, dessert extra payable on site). Dinner included at the hotel (starter, main course, dessert). Boca Tapada

Free time to enjoy the Boca Tapada area, including a walk along the trails of the 500-hectare Camino a San Juan private reserve, where you can discover the flora and fauna typical of the region (tropical rainforest). You’ll have the chance to see caimans and tropical frogs, as well as numerous birds (toucans, parrots…). You can also take a boat trip to observe the wildlife, or borrow one of the canoes at your disposal. Lunch included (main course only, dessert extra payable on site).
